Integrative Therapy in York, Manchester & online
What is Integrative Therapy?
Integrative therapy is an approach to psychotherapy in which the therapist and client work together to understand a client’s problems and concerns and to develop a personalised therapeutic approach, tailored to each individual.
Integrative therapists may draw from other models of therapy and incorporate elements of CBT, person-centred and psychodynamic therapies, for example, with the aim of identifying ways of working therapeutically that are the best fit for each individual client’s goals and preferences.
When developing a deeper understanding of your difficulties, our integrative therapists typically take account of your current experiences of emotion, behaviour, thinking and their life context, including any difficulties in relationships and in professional and personal lives. Integrative therapists are also likely to consider with you how your life experiences in the past may have influenced difficulties you are experiencing in the present.
How can Integrative Therapy help?
Integrative therapy can help with a wide range of mental health issues and concerns, including:
Anxiety
Depression
PTSD
Grief & Loss
Low self-esteem
Relationship difficulties
What is an Integrative Therapy Session like?
Integrative therapy involves working with your therapist to understand your concerns and develop a personalised approach, tailored to your mental health needs. Your therapist will work with you to develop your goals and priorities for therapy and to explore the approaches to therapy that would be a good fit for your concerns and you as an individual.
Integrative therapy is an adaptable, personalised approach, and so there is no set number of sessions recommended for concerns or problems. Your therapist will work with you to review the progress of your therapy and you will be able to consider together how to approach finishing therapy when you feel ready. Equally, if you know you have a limited number of sessions available, your therapist will work with you to agree a focus for your treatment that fits with the number of sessions available.
We understand that seeking therapy can be daunting and that taking the first step can be challenging. We have a team of trained experts available at our clinics in York, Manchester and online.
