Children’s Mental Health Therapy in York, Manchester & online
What is Individual Therapy?
It can feel confusing for your child if they are beginning therapy, and that’s totally normal. While its normal for children to feel worried, sad, upset or have difficult emotions from time-to-time, for some children, negative feelings can become worse over time and lead to a mental health problem.
Our individual therapy approaches include Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Counselling and Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
What do we use Individual Therapy for?
We use Individual Therapy to a wide range of mental health problems your child may suffer with, including anxiety, mood disorders, depression and more.
What is an Individual Therapy Session like?
Our experienced counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can help find the right therapy for your child. We will always offer the type of therapy that’s best suited to your child and their needs.
Our skilled counsellors, psychologists and therapists will listen to your child in a non-judgemental way in a private, confidential setting or in your own home via a video link or telephone. They will help your child with their current difficulties, past experiences or anxieties about their future with the aim of helping them improve the quality of their life and relationships.
We understand seeking therapy can be daunting for both you and your child and that taking the first step can be hard. We have a team of professional and friendly child therapists who can work together with you and your child to design a bespoke and flexible treatment which works best for them. Our children’s therapy services are available for children and teenagers aged 5 to 17, at our clinics in York, Manchester and online.
